Original Innokin EQ Pod Kit: Replace the Pod, Not the Coil
The original Innokin EQ uses a refillable pod with a 0.5Ω Plexus coil built inside it. When that coil wears out, the whole EQ pod is replaced. You do not need to remove a loose coil from the cartridge. Do not substitute an Innokin tank coil.
The original EQ has an 800mAh battery. You fire it with a button. It is the original EQ model, not the later EQ-S. Their controls and pods differ.
How the 2ml Plexus Pod Opens for Refilling
The EQ cartridge holds up to 2ml of e-liquid. Its twist-open filling section sits on the pod, with a protective mouthpiece cover. To refill:
- Lift the pod out of the battery unit and open its twist-fill section.
- Fill below 2ml and close it securely.
- Wipe spills and refit the pod.
- Allow a new pod to soak before use.

EQ Regular Mode and Boost Mode: 13.5W vs 15.5W
The EQ has two fixed output settings. Regular gives 13.5W, shown by a white light. Boost increases output to 15.5W and uses a red light. The coil and capacity stay the same. Red can also mean low battery during use. Check whether you are viewing a mode or charge indicator.
To select a mode, first switch the EQ off. Hold the button to open the mode settings. Use the light to check which mode is on. Check the manual if unsure. These two settings belong to the original EQ, not the three-level EQ-S.
Button Controls, Battery Indicator and Micro-USB Charging
Press the firing button three times quickly to switch the original EQ on or off. The button also activates it during use. The battery indicator uses white for higher charge and red when the battery is low. If it flashes without firing, check the charge, pod fit and contacts.
Recharge it via micro-USB (5V/0.5A). Innokin gives an estimated two-hour charging time. Never leave it charging unattended. Stop use if it overheats.
Choosing E-Liquid for the Innokin EQ Refillable Pod
The original EQ is a low-power refillable system. A 50/50 VG/PG liquid is a practical type to check for its 0.5Ω pod. VG means vegetable glycerine and PG means propylene glycol. A 50/50 blend contains equal parts of each. It is commonly used with small refillable pod devices. Read the liquid label and pod guide. The EQ does not set nicotine strength.
